The engine ECU is the best-known failure point of the first generation LS400, the symptoms are poor idling, stalling, misfires, high fuel consumption and also poor shifting. This is caused by leaking capacitors, an issue that is present in many 1980’s – 1990’s cars. By replacing the capacitors, a lot of these issues can be resolved, in most cases it completely resolves the problems. However, additional damage may occur when the leaking electrolyte has damaged the circuit board. Traces and smaller components (Surface Mounted Devices) can get badly damaged.
Over the years I have repaired many engine ECU with succes. I can replace components, repair traces and clean circuit boards. I work with flat rate prices, get in touch with me to see if your ECU is worth repairing and to get a quote.
